The Galleria – huge shopping mall, featuring all the high street as well as upscale luxury brands, all in one place. You can get lost all day shopping here.

Hotel Zaza – a bit over the top, but it’s fun. A great hotel for spa, centrally located in the city and near the lovely Hermann Park.

Davy Crockett National Forest – a beautiful area which isn’t too far for a weekend drive from Houston. Named after the legend Davy Crockett, this forest contains a vast expanse of woodlands and streams. We rented a house on a lake nearby for a totally tranquil time out!
Dos Brisas – haven’t been yet, but its top on the list for the next time I’m in the area. It’s a luxury ranch style resort with tons of activities including horse back riding on offer. Perfect for a country getaway from the city. Feel free to share comments if you’ve been!
