Sometimes a random walk into an unknown restaurant or cafe ends up being the best route to discovering a new favourite. I walked into Haminados in Notting Hill today and I can tell you it’s worth returning to over and over again.
We’re talking no frills, New York style deli food and atmosphere. London doesn’t know what it’s missing because we need more of these types of places.
Owner Joseph has been running Haminados in this very same neighbourhood since 1975 and he’s as welcoming and enthusiastic as I imagine he would have been from opening day. The friendliness as you enter the door is an instant invitation to savor the food while enjoying the company.
In the summer, a back garden is open for enjoying the weather too. Can’t wait to try it over a sundowner meal again.
If you’re looking for a homely place to tuck into comfort food, this is it, Londoners.
